Veronica Mars movie is not happening and it’s the final decision of the creators. Earlier this year, there has been a plenty of rumors about the movie version of Veronica Mars. We took our proposal to Warner Bros. and Joel Silver told us that there is no enthusiasm [there] to make a Veronica Mars movie, and that is unfortunately a roadblock we cannot compete with”.   She also asked the fans to launch a letter-writing campaign to get the things back on track. I don’t know if Rob Thomas will change his mind in the future, but it isn’t looking so good for the VERONICA MARS movie. 

The Chicago Tribune is reporting that according to Thomas, the current economy and lack of viewer interest has hurt the chances of a big screen jump for the series. Although “both [he and star Kristen Bell] would love to do it,” the momentum on the project seems to be lost.

However, Thomas doesn’t rule out continuing MARS as a comicbook series, as long as he gets to write it. 

Fans can find a consolation prize in the fact that Bell will be guest starring on Thomas’ new show, PARTY DOWN, as a character with a similar name. She appeared in the May 22 finale as former Party Down employee Veronica Moon. 

I know you have been hearing the rumors for a long time, but this time the news about Veronica Mars movie comes direct from the horse’s mouth. Kristen Bell, who played the title role in the show that ended in 2007, has reportedly said that although she did not have any updates, the team was trying to make the movie happen. Kristen who has claimed that Veronica Mars was the most important part of her life, has also been reported as saying that she was as excited as everybody else for the project to start rolling and with everyone all ready to go, the team just needed to pull it together.

We fans have been eagerly waiting for our much-loved teen-detective show to make its big return in the form of a movie. And as each new rumor raises our hopes we feel equally disappointed when there is no action following the rumor. But as they say hope is what makes life go! Supposedly the creator and star of the dearly departed Veronica Mars, Rob Thomas and Kristen Bell, met last week and discussed the possibility of a Mars movie. Any such project is a long way off, Thomas cautions: “It’s very tough to focus on it right now with two pilots on my plate. But as soon as I have any free time, that’s my top priority.” We hate to throw cold water on such a delightful notion, but seriously, it’s never gonna happen.

Not that we wouldn’t watch a Veronica Mars movie; after all, despite a significant drop in quality in later seasons, the show was never less than enjoyable, and the relationship between Bell’s Veronica and her father, played by Enrico Colantoni, was one of the smartest and spikiest ever shown on TV. A Veronica Mars movie would allow Thomas to give the series the proper ending it never really had, and to tie up the loose ends its untimely finale left dangling.

But why on earth would a studio — any studio — spend the money to make a movie version of a TV show that at its best never attracted 3 million viewers? A show that in, say, the 2004–2005 season, was the 148th most popular show on television — out of 156 prime-time shows? One that hasn’t (yet) seen any of its stars break out in a major way? One that got worse and worse, not better and better, as the years went on? Rather than begging studios for the cash for a Mars movie, wouldn’t it be better if Thomas, Bell, and the crew went the Dr. Horrible route, set aside a week and $100,000, and shot a couple of mini-Mars stories for download? We’d watch those!

I used to have incredibly boring dreams. When I was younger, I would wake up in a cold sweat after having nightmares about not turning in my homework on time or having to restart my computer several times after the Web continually crashed on me. Last night’s was a doozy: I dreamt that I Love Money’s The Entertainer (pictured) was offering free foot massages in hopes of raising awareness about Graft versus Host disease. This dream was particularly strange, considering I haven’t looked at any of my Arrested Development DVDs in about three months, and my boyfriend is barring me from watching last Sunday’s episode of I Love Money because he’d rather see some swimmer guy win a bunch of medals at some big sports event, yadda yadda yadda. And two nights ago I dreamt I willingly entered room 1408 with John Cusack, even though I knew it was an “evil f—ing room.” And the worst part about all these dreams is that my inappropriate crush, Robert Pattinson, has yet to appear in any of them, even though I’ve willed him to hundreds of several times. Come on, work your magic, Cedric Diggory!
